Chubby ran to the kitchen table.
He grabbed the candlestand with the half burnt candle.
With it he ran out of the house from the backdoor.
A worried Mama ran behind chubby.
Everything outside the house was dark.
The candlelight too wasn’t strong.
However with the help of it Chubby was able to see the scene.
Papa and Grandpa were tying somebody with a rope.
“Let me go, let me go,” the robber was pleading with them.
“Bring the candle closer Chubby,” Papa ordered.
Chubby took the candlestand closer.
Everyone was shocked by what they saw.
It was Captain Fox from the valley.
Captain’s brother Cyril Fox is a good friend of Chubby’s Papa.
Papa stared at Captain.
“Captain, shame on you,” Papa shouted at Captain.
Grandpa was frothing mad at Captain.
“I never thought Vincy’s son would end up being a burglar” Grandpa growled.
Grandpa used to know Captain’s grandpa, Vincy.
Mama couldn’t say a thing.
She was so shocked to utter a word.
“This rope hurts me, please untie me,” Captain was pleading.
“No, I am going to tie you to a tree,” Papa said furiously.
He asked Chubby to bring a rope from the attic.
Chubby climbed up the ladder.
He climbed down soon with the rope.
Papa and Grandpa tied Captain to the mango tree in front of the house.
After that Papa went into the house.
A minute or two later he returned with his outdoor clothes.
“Where are you going?” a puzzled Mama asked.
“I am going to bring Captain’s brother Cyril here,” Papa told Mama.
“Don’t untie that one,” he ordered everyone pointing his finger at Captain.
They all watched Papa as he disappeared into darkness.
