It was a happy day for Tara and Tarun.
Three of their cousins were staying with them.
They came with their parents.
Their parents went to see a relative who was ill and in hospital.
Cousins Dimuth and Himath started discussing about cricket with Tarun.
Tara and cousin Amyra played with Shadow, Tara’s pet.
From time to time they heard shouts from Tarun’s room.
Tarun and Dimuth were arguing with little Himath.
Tara and Amyra stopped running.
They went to Tarun’s room.
“How do you say he is a good batsman?” Dimuth asked Himath.
“I have seen him batting well” Himath replied.
“He failed this whole season,” Dimuth reminded.
“He is not good anymore, Himath,” said Tarun taking Dimuth’s side.
“But still I like his batting,” Himath said refusing to give in.
“So you only like losers?” Dimuth asked sarcastically.
Little Himath was feeling really bad.
He looked down. He was about to cry.
Tara’s mother who was in the bedroom heard the conversation.
She went to Tarun’s room.
“Why are you bullying Himath, children? She asked Tarun and Dimuth.
Tarun and Dimuth smiled.
“Just like you, he is also entitled to his opinion,” mother explained.
“Your favourite need not to be his favourite,” she went on.
“So be good and learn to respect the opinion of others,” she added.
Mother stroked Himath’s head.
He was feeling better.
“Come with me. Lunch is ready,” mother told everyone.
Who were the cousins staying with Tara and Tarun?
What did the boys discuss about?
What according to mother, is Himath entitled to, just like Tarun and Dimuth?
